1916 Rising Commemoration

20 Buttons & 20 bows...

This year saw various activities across Ireland to commemorate the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising. 100 years on and the fallen have never been forgotten.

In remembrance of 40 children who lost their lives at that time, Noel Coffey created a splendid piece of artwork. Created using 20 buttons and 20 bows, each one represents a child that died during this period.

Noel's picture was exhibited in Ballinamore Library during 'Positive Age Week' earlier in the year. Noel was a special guest at the opening event on the 1st October, where he was thrilled to meet Joe Duffy.

Visit our Photo Gallery to see Noel's splendid artwork for yourself and view even more pictures from other activities/events at Oak View Nursing Home.
